The Derby West Indian Community Association (DWICA) is pleased to announce that the Derby Caribbean Carnival 2026 will take place on Sunday 19 July 2026, in an exciting new city-centre setting.

A Strategic Move for Sustainability

This change of location reflects the evolving realities of delivering large-scale public events. Significant and unsustainable increases in infrastructure costs linked to health and safety requirements combined with limited public funding and private-sector investment have led DWICA to make the strategic decision to bring the carnival into the heart of Derby city centre.

As organisers of the 2026 event, DWICA remains fully committed to celebrating Caribbean culture while ensuring the long-term future of the carnival. The revised city-centre format has been carefully designed to preserve the spirit, energy, and cultural richness that the community has enjoyed for decades.
